1. Salt Water Gargle

One of the best ways to kick-start your home remedies for any kind of periodontal or gum disease would be rinsing the mouth with salt water. You can dilute a few drops of this oil in very little water and then massage on the gums. Aloe vera has been used for its many soothing properties for years and gum infections are no exceptions. You can simply take the gel of the aloe vera and then rub it all over the gums. For this remedy you need to first roast a handful of cumin seeds and to this finally add a handful of rock salt. Now let the same cool down. Now you can easily powder the mixture in mixer or blender and store it. Use it for massaging the gums 2-3 times a day. It will not only fight inefficient but also reduce the swelling of the gums. 8. Green Tea

Use largely for toothaches as a major antibiotic, most people are not aware that the goodness of the clove oil works equally well for gum infections too. Just take the oil and massage very well into the gums. Let the oil stay there for a while and don’t rinse off. [9]

10. Lemon And Salt Juice

Mix together 1 small spoon of lemon and salt very well till it forms a thick paste. Now use this paste to massage the gums, avoiding the teeth area as it may taste quite sour. Rinse after half an hour and repeat twice a day.[10]


11. Burdock Root

Boil one spoon of burdock root powder in about a cup of water. Once it comes to a boil, let it cool down. When still warm, use this mixture as a rinse. It really works well on the swollen gums and helps in fighting off various kinds of gum infections too.[11]


12. Gum Massage

Along with the above, you can also try massaging gums on a regular basis with clean hands. Doing so will not only improve gum function but also fights disease. You can also use some ice to chill your hands first and then massage the gums from the same.[12]
