4. Green Tea

Green tea has been found to be very effective against pink eye due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Moreover, the caffeine in tea has a tendency to constrict the blood vessels. Such an action in the eyes helps in reducing swelling by reducing the inflammatory response of the immune system.

The best way to use green tea is applying tea bags. Steep a tea bag in warm water until the water starts to take a color. Take out the bag, let it cool and place it on the affected eye. Let it be there for 15 to 20 minutes. This can be done three times a day.
