Apple Cider Vinegar And Alcohol
This is another remedy that can be used at home, since the vinegar helps in combating infection and prevents it from spreading further too.
You will need about a cup of alcohol along with a similar quantity of the vinegar, use apple cider vinegar for this one.

You need to heat about a cup of alcohol along with the vinegar. While warm, soak some cotton in it and then put it gently on the ears, but do remember to soak out the excess liquid. Keep it on like a plug and use a dryer to dry out the excess liquid in the ears. One can also try gargling with apple cider vinegar alone.
Basil is a plant that is again rich in antibacterial properties and helps in faster healing of viral infections like cold and cough along with ear infections, which are usually interrelated.

Hot Water Compress
For this, you simply need to take a hot bag, hot water soaked cloth or even cotton dipped in hot water to relieve the pain and also prevent infestation of germs.

Take the compress of a bearable temperature and then give your ears some gentle pressure. Do not let the water go in. Repeat 3-4 times a day and avoid using more than five minutes.
Steam Or Vapour

You can either opt for a commercial one or simply boil water and cover your head using a towel.For kids, fill the bathroom with steam by simply switching on the hot tap.

For infants, it is not suggested to use a steamer, though adults can do the same safely. Sit in the bathroom for a while and let your child inhale the steam. For better results, use some eucalyptus oil or lemon balm in the water. It helps in faster healing.

For this, chop a red onion and heat in the microwave for two minutes. Then take out the juice of the same and pour a couple of drops in the ear. Do not do it for smaller children. For them, you can heat the onion slice and then place it on the infected ears. Use a bearable temperature.
Tea Tree Oil
Again, tea tree is rich in different kinds of antibacterial properties. It gives quick results and relief from infection. You can apply it externally or even internally based on the requirement.
For this treatment, you need about 2-3 drops of tea tree oil along with a spoon of olive oil, colloidal silver and apple cider vinegar.
How To Use Tea Tree Oil
Heat this mixture to a bearable temperature. Then lie down on your side and pour a couple of drops inside the ear. Let it stay and then turn over so that the liquid comes out. Repeat on the other side if you have infection in both ears. Don’t use it for kids, though externally it may be safe for them, but not internally.
